Where Do We Do the Interview?

My husband and I had been living abroad in Spain for the past two years and filed our I-130 from there. Our application was approved at the end of August but we have yet to hear any news from NVC.

We recently packed up our bags and are now in Southeast Asia. We would like to do our interview at the Bangkok US Embassy but don't know how feasible this is. How does NVC determine where the interview will take place? Is it where you filed the application from or can we make a request to do the interview elsewhere?

Also, does NVC send the Welcome Packet via email or by post? We don't have a permanent address now and would prefer to have everything sent via email.

The country of processing is your stated country of citizenship, nationality of where you have a legal work or reident visa If such resident status as changed since you submitted your I-130 and the NVC automatically assigns a new case number representing the country from which you filed, you will have to request a case transfer. It's not difficult if your package is still at the NVC, but if it has already been NVC-processed and forwarded to your husband's embassy, you must request a case transfer from both the sending and the receiving country embassies.
