  • Field Office processing time

    Hi,

Little background, I am a GC holder and filed for my wife's GC (Her PD is 27 Jan 2015).

I-130 was approved, and after visa bulletin changes in Oct 2015, we filed I-485 and AP etc. Biometrics was done, EAD w/AP was approved and received.

Final Action date for F2A category is 22 Dec 2014 in Oct 2016 visa bulletin, so the PD will be current soon (in Nov or December 2016 bulletin)

My question is about the next steps once PD is current?
    1. Do we need to do anything or will application start processing automatically (in the past you would file I-485 etc when PD was current, but we have already done all that).
    2. Regarding Interview timeline, looking at the LA County field office processing times, it shows,

Field Office Processing Dates for Los Angeles County CA as of: July 31, 2016
I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status January 21, 2016

I am not clear of what this means, does this mean once we are eligible for interview (PD is current), that it will take about 5 months to get interview scheduled? How do you read/interpret the results.

    3. Is there anyone that filed F2A with GC spouse, in the last year or two that can share their timeline. I am looking for someone that filed I-485 (got ead?) etc before their PD was current. E.g. someone with PD Oct/Nov/Dec 2014 PD).

    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks

To provide update, for anyone else having some questions.

PD (01/27/2015) became current in 12/2016 bulletin.

12/19/2016: Saw update today (first time since I-485 was sent), that Interview has been scheduled for 01/18/2017. I did not have any other touches (LUDs), or status "Ready for Interview", it went straight from "We have received your form" to "Interview scheduled"

So, I am not sure how the field office processing times are used, but it did not seem to delay the interview date.
