  • Question! Someone must know the answer! (HELP)

    Hi guys!

I want to start my visa application process through my american citizen brother now (F4) to obtain a priority date, then when my mum moves to america next summer and becomes a US Permanent Resident, then get her to sponsor me, which i will be in the F2b category for and just go ahead with that one instead.

Basically what im asking is will they let me keep my original priority date from the earlier F4 application moving forward with my mums one?

Your first Priority Date will not be cancelled, so you then take the first visa slot available to you.

Thanks! So when my mum sends off her i-130 petition next summer, we put a note in quoting my original reference number and request that i keep the same priority date?

        No.
When mom submits a petition date for you, a different Priority Date will be created for her petition. But the waiting period for mom's Priority Date may be less than the waiting period for your subling's petition Priority Date.
