GC holder marrying a fiancé who is not in the US
Hi,
I recentrly went to my immigrant visa interview at the US embassy in France (returning resident).
The visa was approved and i'm planning to travel to the US in the next few months.
However, before all the this happened i was planning to marry my boyfriend (for 10 years) who leaves in our home country (Portugal) and doesn't have any visa or GC from USA.
Is there any problem obtaing a GC and getting married a few months after? I read here at the forum someone saying that GC holders could only get married 1 year after getting GC. Is there ay evidence for these?
I understand there is a waiting period for wives of US greencard holders. How long is the wait for Portuguese petitioners and respetives husbands of US gc holder?
