Self-Employed Writers

I'm in the process of filling out the Affidavit of Support for my husband's immigrant visa. I have been working as a freelance writer and from what I understand, I don't need to show evidence of income. Are there any other self-employed writers out there with this experience? Did NVC request proof of income or was your income questioned during the interview?

Any experience with this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
