I-485 Pending and re-entering US with H1B

I am on H1B visa and planning to apply for family based GC through my wife (USC). In Jan '17, we are going to back for a 3 week vacation.

If i apply I-130 and I-485 now, will my GC application be abandoned if I leave the country?

I am planning to re-enter US using my H1B.

Please suggest if anyone was in the same situation before.

It won't be considered abandoned, if you have a valid H1B and you use your H1B when you enter.

I-485 instructions have a section on page 6 and 7 for that.
