Do I need photographs for I-130?

Hello, I saw on some sources and websites that you need to submit a photograph of the petitioner and the beneficiary along with your I-130. But some of my friends said it is not necessary; so should I submit it or not?

You must submit one passport-style photo each for petitioner and spouse. Petitions for other beneficiaries do not need passport-style photos.

This difference is very clearly stated on the I-130 instructions.
