I864 dependent

Hi all, my husband (us citizen, I864 sponsor) is filing green card for me (principal immigrant) and I have one question about the section Sponsor's household size'. I have a daughter (born in the U.S.) but my husband is not her father. So do we need to count my daughter in the household as Sponsor's dependent child'?

Hello Tara, if your daughter is living under your roof she counts as 1 person, if you are using the form downloaded from USCIS it will automatically calculate the number in your household in Part V #8 as 3 total household.

Hi Adrian thank you so much for the explanation. So the sponsor's stepchild does count as a dependent even not yet claimed in sponsor's tax return, right?

That is correct! WHoever lives under your roof is considered a person in the household!
