My mother who is applying for a spousal green card from India, was asked at her medicals NOT to go for her scheduled interview at the US embassy as her chest xrays were abnormal (due to childhood TB scars) and was referred to a local hospital for an 8-week sputum culture by the doctor.
I just want to know that after the 8 week tests are over and the hospital forwards the reports to the medical center who then forwards it to the US embassy, how do we get the date for the rescheduled interview? The medical center says that the US embassy will contact us with the new appointment date. Is this true? Why can't we select the interview date ourselves from a given time slot?
The interview my mom was to go for was itself a rescheduled interview as she was not able to go on the original interview date due to a hip surgery, and when we rescheduled it to the new date, we got the option to choose the date OURSELVES on the online website within the next 12 month period.
So I'm pretty confused on this. Will the US embassy contact us or something with the new date? Does anyone have a clue??
