Hey everyone. I'm currently in a bit of a bind and unsure of my next steps.
I am going to apply for CR1 later this year to be with my wife.
I am currently in the process of relinquishing my birth nationality (Chinese) and naturalising as a British national. In this process I will change my name. However, the name I am planning to change it to does not match the name I took on my marriage certificate. My new passport will have a name that is different from my old travel documents AND my marriage certificate.
Will this pose a problem in my CR1 application?
Am I under a legal obligation to go by the name I chose to take on my marriage certificate?
I am asking so I know if it is necessary to go through a legal name change process to cover all my bases before applying for CR1.
