  • Exchange Datas US to Germany, as soon as Greencard is there?

I am wondering, if because of the FATCA treaty (from 2013), anyone knows, if the US tells the German government, as soon as a German citizen gets a US Greencard (after marriage within the US)?

A lawyer said no, but someone said yes.

And I am wondering, that if long if I don't work in the US, but get Kindergeld in Germany, for which I officially have to live in Germany most of the time, if the US gov tells the German one automatically, that I got married or got a Greencard, even without me working in the US and probably still holding a job in Germany (not sure if I keep that one).

Pleas no judging, but please tell me if you know something about that. Thanks

If I'm not wrong, FATCA stands for The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act.

Thank you, can't read it, they say I have to be a member to read it.

I know about Fatca and that its an Act to prevent tax fraud, which I don't want to do.

But I was wondering, if someone knows, if that means, that as soon as someone is entitled to be able to work in the US, even that he doesn't, but able to, cause of getting married and a green card, if the US tells the German government, that the German citizen is now able to work in the US and lives there and able to be taxable, that what is very important for me to know. Is that written in that article or could you please email it to me, if you have access to it or post it here? Thanks so much

Ok I was able to read it. So as soon as someone works or has a bank account with a SSN in the US, they report that to that persons home country, do I understand that right? But does it mean, as soon as someone gets a green card, they tell too?
