Sponsoring parents who live oversea

Hi all,

So I'm about to sponsor my parents for greencards, I've been reading a few instructions about this procedure, but there is one thing that I'm still unsure. That is when I first submit the I-130 for both parents, do I need to file the Affidavit support form I-864 as well? According to some websites, I only need to send I-130s and wait for other forms (including I-864) to be mailed to me?

While all the websites seem helpful, but I'd appreciate if anyone here who already went through the whole process, could share the steps you took, documents needed, and the timeframe of this process.
