  • Deportation of a GC holder

Example Scenario: Let's say my dad marries someone overseas. After she gets her GC she decides to divorce him (less than 2 year marriage). Can a petition/sponsor have her deported?

What are the evidence to prove so she can be deported?

A petitioner or sponsor cannot have someone deported. Also, deportation is for people who are here illegally. She is not here illegally, she is a green card holder.

Green card holders and other foreigners legally in the US can be deported, for example for certain criminal convictions, or for fraud in their immigration, etc.. But not for divorce.
