Can one start the family-based green card process in Canada but finish it in the US?

Hi I'm Canadian, my husband is a U.S. citizen. We live in B.C., but plan to move to U.S. in a few months (once we've closed the sale on our house and business). Ideally, I'd like to start the green card application (i.e. have my husband submit an I-130 petition) now -- and then once the sales are closed, move to our U.S. address, notify USCIS, and continue the process there. Does anyone know if that is possible ... or should I wait till we get there to start the whole process?

If you are a Canadian Citizen as I am, provided you are not entering the US to seek employment you may enter the US without a visa.
However, I am not an attorney so I maybe in error. I am going thru AOS and the experience of applying is less complex here in the US.
You don't need to go thru the US Embassy in Vancouver.

You cannot enter the US as a visitor with intent to do Adjustment of Status during that stay. You will be denied entry.
