Green Card for Parents - Questions regarding documents
I am a US Citizen, interested in sponsoring my parents for GC. They are both in India, and I shall be filing from the US. I have a few questions regarding documents that are required to be submitted along with I-130. Please help me understand the process.
1. Am I correct in assuming that since both my parents were born prior to 1955, they don't need to submit Birth Certificates?
2. They do not have a marriage certificate - what are their options? Can they get their marriage registered now? If yes, where do they get this done from? ( they live in New Delhi). If they don't need to register their marriage, do they need a " Not Available" certificate plus additional support affidavits from relatives/friends ? Where can they obtain the "Not Available" document from in New Delhi??
