OPT to F1 to GC through marriage?

I have a bit of a situation that I need advice on. I am on OPT, I married a USCitizen, I will be going back to school soon, and I don't have a new I-20 from my grad school yet.

1) Should I get the new I-20 and then apply for GC or vice-versa?

2) Can my GC application affect or annul my F1 status? I'm taking out a loan for school and don't want to be sent home without my degree and with a hefty loan.

3) Anything else I should consider about my situation?

You will no longer be in F-1 status after your adjustment application is approved, but so what? I don't see why getting a green card will affect your studies in any way
