Almost got GC but unique situation.

My friend is in India. Her husband got green card sponsor ship through his parents. Both (She and her husband) are schedule for interview at US consulate for green card. Now situation is that her husband wants to give her divorce. Divorce might be not possible in this short period so he might go alone for the green card and then come to USA without her.

Now questions are
(1) Can husband go and get the green card without the wife?
(2) Is she can go her self for the interview and get the Green Card?
(3) Is she any ways stop or delay his green card?

Please advice appropriately for this delicate situation.
