What type of sponsorship is this? GC holder for spouse?

      US Citizen for adopted child?

      USC for parents?

For GC's spouse, it should not take that much time, right?

i believe for LPR/GC holder, the queue is different that USC (meaning LOR bringing spouse would be placed in a different queue than USC bringing spouse into the USA)

my husband is a GC and he filed for me October 2016.

My husband is a GC/LPR who filed for me on October 2016. He got a mail from USCIS saying that they received our petition with receipt no. That is the only mail we have received. We are yet to receive notice of receipt from them.
Also at this stage, can we check case status?

Sounds like you have the receipt notice you are looking for

I suppose you could, but I wouldn't worry about it. Your immigrant visa won't become available until late 2018. They will approve his petition in time for that, but they are in no rush to approve it right now

Mine is yet to be approved.

I went to Uscis website to check my case status, I entered my receipt number and they told me that my case was received and I should enter another receipt number on the form sent to me, I tried with the previous number but it wouldn't go through.

Also January 2018 will make it 5yrs that my husband who is a LPR has been in the USA. When do you think he should apply for citizenship? Also how long will it take for him to get the citizenship from the time he applied considering the fact that President Donald Trump is in on these immigration stuff?
