  • Parents greencard process time examples ?

Hi I am us citizen and sumbited I-130 for my parents greencard. I got the recipe notice in two weeks that USCIS received my documents. I was wondering how long it takes for them to review my application ? Is there any one , a us citizen who applied for stents greencard here ? I know it is case dependent but some examples would be appreciated it ?

I am looking to see other journey and cases time ? When they applied and when they got the visa and so on

Are they in the US? If they are, it will be quicker than the 8-10 months through Consular Processing.

      Parents green card process

My parents who are on US tourist visa recently visited USA for 6 months and returned to India. I am planning to apply for family based green card for them.

      1. While applying do they need to be in USA
      2. Can they travel from India to USA once the family based green card application is in process ( I mean immediately on tourist visa as they have just left from USA to India)
      3. How long would the process take?

        1) It depends how they apply (see below)
        2) I don't know- good question
        3) At the moment, through Consular Processing, about a year. (could be less, but I would say prepare for at least a year, once all the required forms and documentation was submitted)

You have two options. See https://www.uscis.gov/family/family-...nent-residents

Consular Processing (When they are outside of the country/US)- which is your case.

        https://www.uscis.govhttps://www.imm...lar-processing

or, if they're inside the country, you can file all the forms together- I-130 (petition), sponsor form and others.

Lots of helpful info on this site too: https://travel.state.gov/content/vis...reference.html
