Processing time for stepsons minor age

Hi everyone! my husband ( US Citizen ) filed a petitions for my 2 sons ( under 18 yrs old) with PD Feb 21, 2017. We received The receipt. That's the only thing we have right now. It's been 4.5 months now since we filed the case.

Hope I have similar case with me. I wonder how long is the wait and the step by step
Process. I appreciate if you can give an idea about this matter.
