  • Am I forgetting anything

My wife and I are getting ready to file our I-130 and I-485 together. I just wanted to confirm that we are not missing anything. I am a USC by birth. She entered the US with inspection and has a current B2 visa and has not overstayed.

    We have:

I-130: a personal check for $535, Certified copy of Petitioner Birth Certificate, Certified Marriage Certificate, (2) identical passport photos of her, (2) identical passport photos of me, Life Insurance Policy Beneficiary form, (2) retirement account beneficiary forms, Deed of property we own together, Proof of her on my Health Insurance Policy, Certificate of title for a vehicle we own together, Proof of her on my vehicle insurance policy, proof of a joint bank account, (3) Letters from family/friends stating our marriage is in good faith and genuine (these are notarized), 16 photographs of us together at family events and with family members and friends.

I-485: personal check for $1,225.00, (2) Identical passport photos of her, Copy of her passport, copy of her birth certificate (including a certified translation in English), copy of her nonimmigrant visa (including stamps from inspection), certified marriage certificate, copy of I-94.

I-864: A copy of my 2016 Federal Tax Return accompanied by my W2 for 2016.

I-765: A copy of her passport, (2) identical passport photos

    I-130A

    G-1145

I-693 completed by USCIS Civil Surgeon

Is there anything else that I should include? Am I missing any forms?

I see people talking about a "cover letter", but I didn't see that in any of the instructions on the USCIS website. Do I need to provide a cover letter?

    Thank you for your assistance.

You should include recent pay stubs (and employer letter, if possible) with your I-864 to prove current income.

It is recommended to also file I-131 for Advance Parole. It is also free and there is no downside to applying for it.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
