  • How long it takes for an application to get approved?

    Hi all,

I applied for my green card through my brother ( I-130 ) in April this year.

Since then I only received one letter from USCIS telling me that they have received my application.

I know that it takes around 10-15 years to get the green card.

My question is, how long it takes for the application to be approved by USCIS?

Aldo, How many letters should I received from them?

    Thanks in advance.

It is hard for anyone to give you an exact time. Here is the link to the Visa Bulletin for Sept 2017, which may help:

Check the processing times on USCIS website by choosing the service center. You can find that information at the bottom of your notice of action. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplay.do

Also, How many letters should I received from them?
You should of already received your first Notice of Action 15-20 days from when you sent the I-130. After that you will receive another notice of action stating that petition that was submitted has been approved & sent to National Visa Center (NVC)
