  • I-130 Question

    Hello,

I am a US citizen and I would like for my dad to live with me in the US and obtain his green card. My dad has a current B1/B2 visa which expires in 2020.
He lives in our country, not US.
I am filling out the form I-130 and there is a question on page 8 (Part 4: Information about beneficiary) that I need help with.

The beneficiary will not apply for adjustment of status in
the United States, but he or she will apply for an immigrant
visa abroad at the U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate in:
    City or Town:_________
    Province: ________
    Country:__________

Should I fill this out with my country's information or skip it? Does he need to apply for another immigrant visa?

    Thanks in advance.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Best,

    -Victoria

Since he is applying from outside the US, he will be doing Consular Processing for an immigrant visa. Put the US consulate that handles immigrant visas for his location abroad.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
