Hi,
My wife (US Citizen) and I just got married in Chicago (where she lives and works). I live in California and I am working on a temporary work visa. Going forward, my wife will move to California to live with me.
Since she is working and can't change her job in middle of term, she will move in with me (in California) after 6-7 months. As she has to file a green card for me, we also have gone through the green card process explanation over immihelp.com and other USCIS website.
We have a couple of questions mentioned below on green card filing for our situation, where we will be living separately for the initial time period due to job constraints.
Q1. Since I am renting an apartment right now, I will change it when she moves here. Is this okay? Do we need to do any extra paper work for this? We should list our separate addresses in the applications, right?
Q2. What Proof can we provide for our joint bona fide marriage (other than Marriage certificate) i.e. cohabitation since we would be living in different states at the time of filling green card? How important is the cohabitation requirement for the green card process?
- She can also get proof from her firm, that she can leave after her term/contract finishes.
-Another option is a joint bank account, but would that be a good idea if we open it at this time when filing for a green card?
Q3. Where do we need to file application for my green card(I-130 and I-485)? Chicago OR California? Can we send it to below address? We got this from the USCIS website. This is in case when we file I-130 and I-485 together, since I am eligible for this? Please correct us.

Q4. Do we need to fill forms other than I-130 and I-485 together?
Your help would be greatly appreciated,
