No receipt (notice of action) received after 1 month since the filing date

Hello everyone! I'm new to any kind of forums, but I really need some advice.
I'm a beneficiary. My spouse is a USC. Our lawyer sent our paperwork (I-130, I-485, the other forms, 2 checks, supporting docs, etc.) on 10/26/2017, and it was delivered to Chicago, IL 60680 on 10/28/17. Since that day nothing has happened. The checks haven't been cashed, no receipt received. No texts, e-mails. Absolutely nothing. It's December 6th today. I called my lawyer's office and the reception lady told me to not make any requests or calls to uscic and just give them another 30 days. We're kinda lost. I mean I know uscis is overwhelmed etc., but it's been over 30 days and no answer from them.

You should have received NOA by now. Make sure that your lawyer did indeed send out your package. If yes, you should contact the USCIS.

Thank you. I will call my lawyer on Monday and if I get no answer I will contact uscis myself. It's been over 2 months!
