My sister has sponsored my mother. She received a GC and soon after she was put on the street by my sister. Now she is sleeping on a charity organization but she cannot stay there for long time.

Is that normal in US ? What can be done ?

Your mother could sue your sister for the income she is supposed to provide under the Affidavit of Support, but she probably won't be willing to do that; plus, even if she wanted to, I think it would have to be done in federal court and the process is expensive.

You can take your mother in to live with you. Or you can try to find her any kind of services for poor people that she might qualify for in your state.
