  • GC for parents, visa expiring

Hello all, I just got my US citizenship and I want to apply GC for my parents asap. I am in dilemma when to apply. Their 10 year b2 visa expires in July 2018. If they come to US in march this year and I file their 130 and 131 application after that, I am pretty sure the processing will continue even after July. I am quite confused what should we do after that? Can they still stay in US legally since their GC is under process? Or will they have to leave the country?

They can stay. Being the immediate relatives of a US citizen, all they need to do AOS is enter the country with inspection. Beyond that it does not matter if they have overstayed for a day or for 20 yrs.
Just an opinion; Not legal advice.
