working while waiting on EAD

Can I work for an employer who is outside of the united states while I wait for my work authorization to be approved? can I pick up jobs on online freelancing websites? or make money from online advertisement on my website? I'm filing I-765 concurrently with i-130 and i-485 as an immediate relative.

No, you cannot work until you get an EAD or green card. However, illegal work will not affect your AOS in your category.
