Hello,

I am posting this on behalf of one of my friend. He is in New Zealand on work permit currently, Soon he's going to marry US Green Card holder so i want to know what procedure he has to follow?
Is it better for him to come to US on Visitor Visa or what will be the best for him?

Hi.

Your friend cannot come into the USA with visitor's/tourist visa to get married AND adjust status. Getting married in the USA is OK but not adjusting status.

The soon to be spouse would need to petition for him ( F2A category as the spouse is GC holder, not US citizen, with wait time around 2 years). https://travel.state.gov/content/tri...ant-visas.html

If the GC holder can naturalize to be a US citizen soon, that might speed up the process.
