I am on H1B and my wife is a US Citizen. We got married (only religious ceremony) in India and registered our marriage here in US. I just got off of a phone conversation with one of the attorney for marriage based GC. She told me getting married in India (only ceremony) and registering in US might cause an issue in marriage based GC application. Anybody faced any such issue?

I am on H1B and my wife is a US Citizen. We got married in India (Full Marriage in India) didn't registered here in US. (Still waiting on I-130 approval) not sure that can be a reason. -
Probably only an issue if you?re trying to use the date from the religious ceremony. Basically treat it like it never happened. Use the dates and info from your US marriage certificate.Adjustment of Status c(9) 400 days
