Greetings Everyone
My wife got her immigrant visa (conditional resident) last year in June 2018. We received her conditional green card three weeks after she came to USA. There was an error in regards to her name so we had to apply for a new green card as per directions from USCIS. The fact that her CR1 Visa stamp is valid only for one year and is expiring in June 2019, we are currently running in to an issue here.
Her state ID and driving license is expiring in June 2019. Her new green card has not arrived yet. The local DMV office that we went to told us that they can?t extend the validity of her State ID and driving license stating that her CR1 visa stamp is expiring in June 2019 and this is only proof we have for her residence. When I showed them a copy of old green card, they mentioned that they need Original Green Card not the copy.
Is there a way to get a new ID and driving license with validity beyond june 2019?
Please help me
Thank you in advance
