Green card for Mom

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if this has been posted before but perhaps someone can advise me as to the AOS of a parent. I've sent in I 130, I131, I485, I 765 and I864 for my Mom (the instructions said I could send the medical examination separately). In your experience, when will they request the medical results?

This is our timeline:

6/22/18 sent package with forms
6/25/18 online confirmation of receiving I 130, I 765 and I131
6/29/18 accepted fingerprint fee and that "NBC is working on your case"
7/13/18 fingerprint apptm

Since then..nothing. What is next? What's the typical wait?

My experience

My daughter petitioned me. I submitted my application they same as you but in February 2018. I did my biometrics in March, in April I received a RFE for a siganature. I received another RFE for taxes on my co-sponser. Didnt hear anything until the end of July, they sent a message that my EAD is being printed. 2 days later I received my EAD card in the mail.

As of 8/24 My application for my green card is still pending. Everyone is saying it will be soon.

Today I finally went to my congressman and asked if he could help me expidate the process. I would have waited patiently but my mom is terminally ill and want to go see her before she passes.

Btw, I'm living in Phoenix waiting.

Thanks for getting back to me. So 4 months for your EAD. I thought you can travel overseas with it( if applied for work permit and advance parole they issue one card - is that inaccurate?)


Also, I am curious as to the medicals - when will they need the package, since I have not submitted it with the rest, upon applying for AOS.

So many questions and not too many updates on the status. A bit frustrating.

If you applied for the EAD and AP card you will get a combo card. And with that you will be able to travel outside of the country. I did not submit for the AP and now I'm stuck waiting for my GC to travel.

I submitted my medical with my packet. Ready other post it sounds like you will submit that medical package at the interview.

I advise you post your questions on the general threads, they are very responsive and knowledgable.
