Can we use joint sponsor instead of the petitioner of i130?

My American wife filed i130 for me, the case is now at the NVC, they require from i864 the affidavit of support.

She has some problems in the domicile, so she can not be the sponsor of me.

Can my brother-in-law be my joint sponsor instead of her? or the petitioner must be the sponsor?

The petitioner must be a sponsor, and must fill out an I-864, and meet the domicile requirements, even if there is a joint sponsor.
