Police Clearance in India for parent : Parent is in USA

Hi All,

My Father's GC is approved. His finger printing was done 2 times but looks like it did not go through. So they are asking for police clearance. Went to Mumbai website for police clearance. They are asking for demand letter duly attested by embassy.

Can someone help me with the answer?

I am really surprised as to why they would ask for PCC after finger printing is done. Based on my personal experience you have to get the clearance certificate from Passport office. you will have to go to your local police station and have them issue a PCC. once you receive that, you will then have to visit the local passport office and show them the PCC issued by the local police station. The Passport office will then do in depth inquiry and then finally issue you the PCC that you need.
btw how did u get the PCC initially?
