  • Spouse Visa Proof Of Relationship Without Pictures

Hello! This is my first post

    Weird question:

I know that one of the most important proof of relationship when applying for a spouse visa are pictures.

Me and my fiance are muslims, and follow the opinion that pictures of human and animals are not permissible, so we do not have pictures together (even because he is not really a picture guy lol). As proof we have ******** conversations that date back in 2012 to this date, emails, phone records that show i have been in touch with his mother and some amazon orders i placed to his address when i went to visit, islamic marriage mentions in the convos and other things.

Do you think that would be a problem in terms of proofs? we dont have that sort of "romantic" relationship where we message "i love you" all the time, just very practical and supportive without the "stickiness"

I currently live in Italy and he lives in NJ.

I thank you in advance for any help you would be able to give.

Usually, pictures are not the most important evidence. USCIS prefers financial evidence the most. Since you do not live together, other types of evidence (i.e. pictures) are more important.

I would include an explanation about the pictures.

Your other evidence is good, but you should build it up. Include the documents from your travels - plane tickets, etc. Since you have an Amazon account, add him as a 'household' member. Sign up for joint Netflix & Spotify accounts. Try to build the connection as much as possible. Especially if you have been together for almost 7 years. You should have a lot. If you ever lived together, include those documents or get affidavits from close friends and family (for example, I moved to Italy years ago and lived with an Italian guy in one of his parents' apartments. Even though we had nothing in either name, his family and mine, and our friends knew about it and visited us and would be able to write great letters of support, and we also used that address for mail, and for his school and my work, so we could show a shared address even though we had no lease or utilities). Try to think outside the box, everyone has more evidence than they think. If you've never lived together, ask for letters from friends and family who saw you when you were visiting him, or when he was visiting you. One thing I did with my spouse (not the Italian guy LOL) was submit chats between me & his mom, and me & my friends and family talking about him (i.e. a text from my best friend saying "can't wait to see you and Mr. Ember tonight!"). In our case, we only knew each other a few months before marriage so our other evidence was thin and we had to showcase our relationship in creative ways.

Hope this helps some. Good luck!
