  • Birth Certificate

Hey Guys, I just got a interview notice based on marriage. Question is the Must Bring part on the notice say Birth Certificate. I already sent one (original) when I submitted all the other forms and documents in the beginning. Should I bring another one to the interview? I will have to go to the embassy in Nyc.

    Thank you

Yes, have your birth certificate with you just in case! Also make a copy for the office that you can leave with them. Even though if they won't take it I am sure they will appreciate your extra intentions ! Good Luck!

Bad news. The original you sent is never going to get returned. You need an original at the interview.

I made the same mistake. I sent in my original divorce papers, and the copy for my wife to take to the interview. I had to pay for a new set of originals, and send them to the embassy via Fed Ex.

Better go get another original of your birth certificate for the interview.

When sending in the documents, do they accept a copy of the birth certificate (and other documents) or does everything have to be notarized?
