i-130 not transferred from NVC to USCIS. Asked to file form i-824

I switched from consular processing to AOS after my i-130 was approved. Now, uscis is asking me to file i-824 to enable them to obtain the approved i-130 back from the NVC. Typically form 824 is not used for requesting information FROM uscis, it is the other way round.

Has anyone faced a similar situation? If yes, how did you deal with this?
