  • Still waiting 5 mos after approval=problem?

Petition for K-3 visa recieved Oct 2005, and approved Feb 2006. I waited the 90 days, or whatever was required, to call and check on status. In april NVC tells me things are going well and that husband, who is waiting in El Salvador should recieve packet #3 within 4 weeks. No packet arrives. I call again and am told first week of May,then again to expect it first week of June. With each call I am reassured that things are going well, but to call again if the packet is not recieved. At what point do I know there is a problem? There does not appear to be a chain of command in the NVC system for making inquiries or filing complaints. I've already read somewhere that contacting my local congressman this early doesn't help any either. So just wondering how long we play the waiting game before taking further action, whatever that is.

A little background info:husband and I married in Aug 2004 in US. He returned to E.S. Nov. 05 because he had entered illegally and i130 could not be processed until he had left. Its been 9 months since his voluntary departure, and as far as I know this hasn't affected the process. We have not recieved any denial letters of any sorts. Also, we filed for a waiver just in case, before he left. Hopefully should he need it upon re entry,it will be there on file. Our first child will be born this august. I don't have anyone here to help me for the birth or afterward to help me care for it. I already know this doesn't expedite anything.
