  • Baby's travel and Mother in laws vistor visa

Both myself and my husband are H1 visa holders. I was in the US came back to India and I delivered the baby in India this month and want to join my husband with the baby in US in 2-3 months since he won't be back in India soon.

    1) Will our baby need a passort with H4 visa or can we endorse him in the mother's passport.
2a) How long does it take to get an Indian passport for the baby and get the visa interview scheduled.
2b) How long will the endorsement be valid
    3) Will we have any problems with baby's identification purposes here in US since he does not have a passport.
    4) We would like to bring my Mother also soon. So will it be a problem since i am is already there in India and my husband is sponsoring her from the US. What about the chances of getting the visa?
    5) Would it have been better if we had processed my mother's visa earlier when I was in in US and hoped she would get a 10 year multiple entry or so, so that I could have brought her along when I am going back?

    Thank you in advance
    Amitha

    1. Every person needs their own passport. No endorsement in mother's passport.

2a) Passport timings vary in different parts of India.
Interview schedule timings vary too. Look at https://www.immihelp.com/usa-non-imm...waiting-times/

    2b). 3.
    N/A based on answer 1.

4 & 5. You can sponsor her either before or after. It doesn't matter.
