Processing Times

Hi,

I have a general question on processing times: if my brother, being a US citizen living in Texas, would apply for a family based green card for me now, how long would it approximately take until I finally become a permanent resident?
On the Processing Timings table for USCIS Texas Service Center I just can find the information that they currently process petitions received around September 01, 1999. So I probably have to wait 7 years if the petition is filed for now?

Additionally, if I want my son (unmarried and older than 21) to join me to the US, I can file for his permanent residence after these 7 years in the first place, or can this be done earlier?

No , you should look at the state dept visa bulletin and not the
service center processing times.
Your category is family- 4th for which the cut off date for India is July 95,
so at the current processing rate it should take about 11 years.

Family 2b will apply for your son and you can only petition for him after
you get your premanent residence.
