  • NERVOUS AND PANICKED!!! --NVC sending case back to CIS/INS????HELP!!!!

    Hi,

I was supposed to be receiving an appointment letter to pick up in Montreal canada.. Does this mean that this is a no-go???
All information and fee bills paid and sent to NVC.. Waited 6 weeks and now my case is being sent to CIS (formerly INS) no other explanations!!!!! What does this mean?????
    Is my case being denied??

    Panicked!!!!!!!!!!
    HELP PLEASE

    update on case

Since my PANICKED posting, I have received several e-mails from members experiencing the same situations. In order to help others I have taken the liberty to post the update of my case in the form of a response to one of the emails sent to me. Hope this helps you...

Here is my reply to an immhelp forum member whose case was sent back to CIS ( as in my case -- read previous post --) because a new spouse was added.

*** This is my reply to the member **** ****
My case may be a bit different than yours...So the reply from CIS may be different..

    * The 800 number does not work outside of the U.S. *

You can buy a $10.00 phone card and dial this number
USCIS number is: 1 (800) 375-5283 . You can get access as long as you buy a phone card from the variety store.
The wait is about 5 - 8 minutes to talk to a live representative at CIS. In my experience they have been very nice.

My situation is that I had to add a new baby unto my case that was almost ready to be sent to the embassy. I was told that they need to process any additions to my case at the local center originally that processed the head applicant's I130. The wait for the new I130 to be processed can be from 3weeks to 6 months but each case is different. It has been hinted that because the case was already at the NVC it has some priority.....
I would not hazzard to guess that it might be the same with you.
I hope that this will put your mind at ease.

Keep in touch and good luck.
