Visa for a new born baby

Hai,
I am going to attend the H1b VISA interview January '07. I am applying H4 dependant VISA for my wife and 4 year old Child also. My wife is pregnent now and she will have the issue during May. She is going to delivery the Child in India only. If we got the visa during January, how should we get the VISA for the new born child. Do we have to get a new passport for the child and apply for the VISA? Should we go to consulate to get the VISA for the new born baby?

They may advise you better.

In our case, we both are green card holders and we had our baby in india.
Baby doesn't need a visa. Just his own passport and the birth certificate was good enough in our case.
