I-130 and I-485 for greencard, still pending after 2 years

My husband is a USC and he filed the I-130 2 years ago ( in 2004) after we were married. At the same time I filed the I-485 at the Texas Service Center. We had my fingerprinting done, and later our joint interview in May 2005... at that point we're told only the FBI background needed ( should be no problem at all) ... but its been almost a year and a half and still no word or update to our cases. We've filed numerous Inquiries and we just here "its still pending".

Any one has something similiar or no what takes so long? Whats the time frame on getting this green card to come thorough.

Timings vary all the time and difficult to say anything.

I don't see much choice other than waiting.
