I applied i-130 but should I apply K3 !

Hello All,

I applied for i-130 with receipt Feb 15th, 2006 for my wife when I was GC holder. Recently I became a Citizen. Currently they are processing i-130 with the receipt date of March 08 2006.

How long will it take to get I-130 approved...

Do I need to apply K3. I appreciate somebody can give me guidance.

You need to inform USCIS that your'e now a citizen......send them a copy of your citizenshi certificate and a brief letter with the recipt #, your full name and your wifes full name.

I called in on July 28th, 2006 after the Naturalization Ceremony the USCIS and she said you don't need to mail the certificate. Later after three weeks they asked for Naturalization certificate. Now they are asking me to wait for 60 days.
- My Receipt date is Feb 15, 2006
- Currently the CSC is processing with Receipt date of March 08, 2006
- For K3 Visa Processing Date is March 08, 2006.

The question is should I file for K3 visa or wait for 1-130 approval from USCIS.

Please advise. What is the processing time for 1-130 upgrade and approval

Youre already several months with the I-130, theres no way the K3 could be quicker..stay with the I-130............I'm not sure what is the processing time with th eupgrade but the fact that you already had it in the system will shave off months
