  • I-130 Approved ... NOW WHAT, need to work

Just received an email today that my I-130 that my wife (US Citizen) filed for me as approved, what does this mean and what do we do next?

We have not yet filed the I-485 (AOS) or the I-765 (EAD) or I-864 (Affidavit of Support). What is the next step, because I would like to get an EAD as soon as possible and start working..... any advice.

I have not actually received the official receipt from INS it was actually mailed yesterday so I am not sure if it contains instructions on what I do next.

I'm not sure if you knew that you didnt have to wait for the I-130 to be approved and that you could/should have filed the I-485 and I-765 concurrently with the I-130..........
But anyway for you to work legally, you hAve to file the I-485 and I-765.....thats the only way. When youre not filing concurrently, youre supposed to attach a coy of the approved I-130 so you could wait, its only around 10 days or so for u to get the approval notice, and then file the I-485 and I-765
