My fiance has currently overstayed his visa waiver and we have been told so many different things about weither or not we can marry!?! He has currently over stayed his visa waiver a year and during his stay he also lost his citizenship. He had a German one and a Turkish one. He lost his German one because back in 2000 they made a law if you have more than one citizenship you automatically lose your German. He had lost his Turkish one back in 2004 due to college reasons, and according to Germany it didn't matter when you had the other citizenship as long as it was after 2000 and with another country you lost the German. (I don't know if I explained that right) SO know we are have no clue what to do! We have been told we can marry with no problems just fill out the paper work. Then we have been told he can't get married since he came in on a visa waiver because it clearly says you can't get married go to school etc..... We were told he should try to get his citizenship back and go back to his counrty and let me apply for a fiace waiver, but I am scared for him to leave because we were told if he left that he wouldn't be able to enter the US for 3 to 10 years since he overstayed his visa waiver. Then we were told he can get married if he stays in the US foe ten years... which I think is CrAzY!
So just wondering can he get married with no citizenship and an overstayed visa with no problems?
Or can he apply for a US citizenship and not get married right away, since he doesn't have one?
Where do we start and what do we do?
We are looking for the fastest way possible because he is a student and he can't work or do anything in this situation.
