documents for interview

After reading many experiences of couples going through the interview, it seems to me that some things are not logic.
Actually, my husband filed for me recently and everything is going fine in the process even though I had overpassed the date of my Visa when we got married. Due to my actual situation, it is obvious that I am not allowed to work yet (so cannot file any tax return), not allowed to open a bank account (so cannot get a joint account with my husband) and of course, not allowed to appear on any utility bill or else. And the funny thing is that these documents are required at the interview ! Can someone explain me how it works as it is kind of confusing ...?

I think if you don't have any documents to prove, you can always bring pictures of your wedding, marriage certificate etc to show that you are legally married. They want to make sure that your marriage is genuine. Explain to them that if you don't have SSN it is not possible to have joint account for anything.

You will have some time to get work authorization and a SS number befor ethe interview. many banks will allow you to open an account and so at least be added to an existing one without a SS number. Also many utility comapnies also allow it. Believe me, its in your interest to have your nam eon as many stuff as you can. he should at least have you as a beneficiary on his health and life insurance policies.
