What if you surrender your immigtant visa?

Hello all,

I am just wondering what if you surrender your immigrant visa? Can you reapply for that in future or not?

I have this question in my mind since long time. I got my IR1 last month but now i dont want to go to USA. the reason behind that is i am in canada and i dont want to loose my candian residency. Still i have 14 more months to go to become canadian citizen. My wife is an US citizen.

Any experince or any suggestion will be greatly appreciate.
