Priority: mother or father?

Hi,

Thanks in advance. I petitioned my mother and father at the exactly the same time. This was back in April this year.
I received a notice that my application for my mother had been approved. I was thinking the one for my father won't be that far behind. It's been 3 months since then and I haven't heard anything so far. He's 72 yrs old and is so eager to come here in US. It would be fantastic if both of them can be in here at the same time.

Would you know if the mother normally has higher priority than father? Just in case my father's application drags, would you suggest that we go for tourist visa and once he's here we'll go change of status?

No, theres no diference because of gender. You could try but I doubt hell get a Visitors visa..........he clearly has an immigrant intent, the biggest obstacle to a visitors visa
