Marriage while petition filed under F1 category

My parents are the citizens of US and they have filed my petition under
F1 category. Now my parents want me to get married so please let me
Know what will happen to the current file that is under process? I am sure the category of the file will change to F3 then and how long will it take for the new file to be processed. My current filed was submitted in Sep.
2003. Please help me with this. My application has been filed in Mumbai,
India.

Change of category Q?

Yes! Also very interested to know if the approved F1 petition (which is coming up datewise) AUTOMATICALLY falls down to category F3?

While I don't want to leave the UK without my fiancee (as cat1 'unmarried son of US citizen') neither do I want to start all over in F3 category - 'married son etc....'

My mum's petition for me was approved July 01 so it's already been a wait!!
